Last night

The election was pretty exciting to watch and I know I was supposed to feel amazing, but I didn't. And it's not because I was rooting for the other team. Absolutely not. I can't explain it, but I felt... a lot of nothing. Why tho? I can't put my finger on it. Am I so cynical that I can't experience joy on the evening of what seems to be such a big deal? I don't think that's it. I was thinking about it all day and I think it's a few things.

First, I just assume the democrats will fuck it up. Enough people in the party will want to just focus on investigating Trump and all of the people that have made the last two years the so fucking awful for so many people. Don't get me wrong, I want that, but I also know the likelihood of anything actually coming of it is slim. It doesn't mean they shouldn't do it though. I hope they drag every last one of those ICE motherfuckers by their masks to face justice.

Second, I assume the democratic party will continue to splinter and they won't be able to agree on much and therefore won't accomplish much.

Lastly, I think, I'm really worried and maybe even a little scared about what's going to happen between now and the end of this presidency. I have a sinking suspicion we'll see at least one really terrible thing happen and my guess is rogue AI will have something to do with it. I really hope I'm wrong.

I guess to sum it all up I'll just say that I'm feeling really uneasy about so much. It's really difficult to celebrate even though I feel like that's what I should be doing. I'm feeling the thrash. I'm feeling like it's just one disaster after another. It feels like we just keep getting knocked down. I don't want to stay down!
